Residential proxies support UDP targeting, which tells the gateway that a session will carry UDP traffic. The gateway then selects an exit that supports UDP and keeps the same exit IP for the session’s TCP and UDP traffic.

How to Target UDP

To target a UDP-capable exit, add the -mode-udp parameter to your proxy username. Both parameters work the same way, so you can use either one. For example, to request a UDP-capable exit for a session:

Combining UDP Targeting with Other Parameters

UDP targeting can be combined with other Regular Residential parameters, including country targeting and sticky sessions. Parameters can be added in any order.

When to Use UDP Targeting

UDP targeting is optional. UDP traffic works without it, but you should add it when a session starts with a TCP request and then sends UDP traffic on the same session. This ensures both types of traffic use the same exit IP.
Replace user with your own proxy username in all examples.
