# Do the proxies support IP authentication?

> Which proxy types support IP-based authentication and how it works.

### Datacenter proxies

Yes, the datacenter proxies ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)) support IP authentication. Dedicated proxies only support IP authentication, while Premium proxies also support username and password authentication. By default, you will receive 3 IP authentication slots for the premium proxies and 5 for the dedicated proxies. More slots can be purchased as an account upgrade.

### Residential proxies

Unfortunately, the [residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) currently do not support IP authentication and only support username and password authentication.
