# Can I pause my subscription?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/account/can-i-pause-my-subscription
How to pause your subscription and when it resumes.
### Datacenter proxies
We typically do not allow subscription pauses for our datacenter proxies ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)). However, if you have a valid reason, you may contact our support team to request a review. Please note that approval is not guaranteed. If your request is approved and your subscription is paused, you can contact our support team to reactivate it. Once reactivated, the subscription cannot be paused again, as this is a one-time exception.
### Residential proxies
The [residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) do not currently support a pause feature. Subscriptions remain active for the duration of their validity—either until the allocated bandwidth is fully consumed or the subscription period expires, whichever comes first.

Open the ["Billing"](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/account/billing) section on your dashboard.

Accounts or plans purchased using the same email are grouped under one dashboard. To view them:
* Log in to your [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/)
* Navigate to the "Accounts" section in the top left

## Credit Card payment
Sometimes our merchant of record Paddle may need to manually review your purchase before you receive the product. If this happens:
* You will receive an email from Paddle indicating they are reviewing your order manually.
* After a successful review, you will receive your product.
* If the review is unsuccessful, your card will not be charged.
For billing-related questions (excluding refunds) with credit card, please contact [Paddle support](https://paddle.net/).
## Cryptocurrency payments
For users new to cryptocurrencies, a few issues can occur when paying. Please read the points below to avoid or correct them.
* **Double-check the destination address**\
When buying with cryptocurrencies, make sure to send funds to the correct address. Double-check that the address pasted in your wallet matches the one copied from our site before sending. See this article on why this is important: [https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/03/new-malware-highjacks-your-windows-clipboard-to-change-crypto-addresses](https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/03/new-malware-highjacks-your-windows-clipboard-to-change-crypto-addresses). If funds are sent to the wrong address, we will be unable to provide the product.
* **Wait for the transaction to confirm**\
Cryptocurrency transactions are marked as received only after confirmation on the blockchain. Confirmation time depends on the fee you pay to the network; we cannot speed this up. You will receive your product once the transaction is completed.
* **Payment out of Gas**\
Gas is the fee for the Ethereum network. If your payment runs out of gas, the money will not have left your wallet. In that case, retry your order.
* **You have not used the ERC20 network**\
For Ethereum and Ethereum-related tokens, Coingate can only receive ERC20. If you sent the payment via BEP20 (Binance Smart Chain), the funds will be lost.
* **Other problems**\
For other billing-related issues, please [contact the ProxyScrape support](https://proxyscrape.com/contact).

# Why has my account been suspended?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/account/why-has-my-account-been-suspended
Reasons for account suspension and how to resolve or appeal.
There are a few reasons why your account may have been suspended. Normally, you should have received an email explaining why the account was suspended and how to resolve the issue.
Here is a small list of reasons why your account could have been suspended:
* We received an abuse complaint from a third party related to your activities.
* Your activities *look* very similar to a DDoS attack or hacking attempt. Try lowering the amount of 400 and 500 HTTP error response codes that you receive back from your target website.
* Your activities are harming our network, causing a negative experience for other ProxyScrape users.
* We have received a chargeback from you.
If you believe your account should be unsuspended, please contact [ProxyScrape support](https://proxyscrape.com/contact) with the following information:
* The software used
* The domains you accessed with the proxies.
* What you are doing with the information sent and gathered through the proxies?
* If already known; What caused your abusive-like activity to occur?
* If already known; How the issue has been taken care of to be prevented in the future.
* Number of requests sent per hour.
* Number of concurrent connections.
* If you are using proxies to collect data, please also provide your intentions with the collected data.
Failure to provide accurate and complete information will delay your suspension process, so please provide all the requested information above.
# Why have my IPs been unauthenticated?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/account/why-have-my-ips-been-unauthenticated
Why your IPs were removed from authentication and how to re-add them.
There are a few reasons why your IPs could have been unauthenticated by us. Normally you should have received an email explaining why your IPs were unauthenticated and how to prevent it in the future from happening.
### Possible reasons why this could have happened
Here is a small list of reasons why your IPs could have been unauthenticated:
* Your activities look very similar to a DDoS attack or hacking attempt. Try lowering the amount of 400 and 500 HTTP error response codes that you receive back from your target website.
* Your activities are harming our network, causing a negative experience for other ProxyScrape users.
### How to prevent it in the future?
Typically lowering the number of concurrent connections you are making and preventing too many 400 and 500 HTTP error response codes from your target website will prevent this from happening again.
# ProxyScrape API
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-overview
Use the ProxyScrape API to get free proxy lists and manage your account programmatically.
For account, proxy, and billing questions, visit the [ProxyScrape Help Center](https://support.proxyscrape.com/en/).
## Account API
**Recommended for all authenticated access.** Create and manage API keys from the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-keys) or programmatically via the API. Send your API token in the `api-token` header when calling `/v4/account/...` endpoints.
Browse the **Account API** section in the sidebar for guides on creating keys, authentication, permissions, and more. Each endpoint page (API key management, Subaccounts, Datacenter, Residential, Residential unlimited, SERP API) has **Try now**.
What API keys are, how they work, and how to get started.
How to send your API key in the api-token header.
## Public API
No authentication required. Get or download free proxies filtered by protocol, country, timeout, and more. Use **Try now** on the endpoint page in the sidebar.
Filter by protocol, country, timeout, anonymity, and more.
## Base URL
All endpoints use:
```
https://api.proxyscrape.com
```
## Try the API
Use **Try now** on each endpoint page to send requests directly from the docs. For Account API endpoints, enter your API key when prompted so the playground sends it in the `api-token` header.
The legacy Services API (`/v2/...` with `auth` query param) is deprecated. Use the Account API with the `api-token` header instead.
# List API keys
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/api-key-management/list-api-keys
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/api-keys
List API keys for the account. Returns key metadata (id, name, permissions, scopes, expiry, `is_active`) but never the secret. Supports status/search filters and optional pagination. Inactive keys are included when `status` is `all` or `inactive`. Permission: `account:apikeys:read`.
# Place a wallet-paid order
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/api-ordering/place-a-wallet-paid-order
/openapi-account.json post /v4/account/orders/create
Place a headless, wallet-paid order. The server forces `pay_with_credit=1` and `no_redirect=1` internally, so the order is debited from your wallet balance with no gateway redirect.
`email`, `fname`, and `lname` are derived from the authenticated identity. You can omit them, or pass them explicitly to override.
Permission: `account:api_ordering:write` (admin-grant-only — off by default for every account). Authenticate with the `api-token` header. The wallet balance must cover the order total at the moment the call lands.
# Read order status
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/api-ordering/read-order-status
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/orders/{orderId}/status
Returns the lifecycle state of a previously placed order. Consumers `POST /v4/account/orders/create`, then poll this endpoint every 1–2 seconds with the returned `order_id` until `status === "processed"`. At that point `data.subaccount` is populated with the same shape `/v4/account/subaccounts` emits, so the caller can drop it straight into per-product endpoints like `/v4/account/{AccountID}/datacenter_shared/proxy-list`.
Gated on `account:api_ordering:read`. The order's email must match the authenticated identity — mismatches return 404 (not 403) so existence isn't leaked.
# Read wallet balance
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/api-ordering/read-wallet-balance
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/orders/balance
Returns the authenticated caller's wallet balance and currency. Authenticate with the `api-token` header. The email is derived server-side from the auth identity, so a token can only ever read its own wallet (IDOR-safe).
By default this is an O(1) wallet primary-key lookup (`balance` + `currency` only). Pass `include_counts=1` to also return `topups_count` and `purchases_count` (email-scoped compound indexes on orders).
Gated on `account:api_ordering:read` for API keys (admin-grant-only; off by default).
# Create API key
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/create-api-key
/openapi-account.json post /v4/account/api-keys
Create a new API key with a name, permissions, and optional scopes (allowed_subaccounts, allowed_ips, expires_at). The full 64-character token is returned **only once** in this response — store it securely. Permission: `account:apikeys:create`.
# Countries available (datacenter)
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/countries-available-datacenter
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/countries-available
List countries available for the datacenter subaccount. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Datacenter bandwidth periods
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/datacenter-bandwidth-periods
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/periods
Get the current billing period and upcoming prepaid periods for a datacenter subaccount. Returns `periods_supported: false` if the subaccount does not use bandwidth-based billing. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Datacenter overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/datacenter-overview
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/overview
Get datacenter subscription overview for a subaccount: plan details, proxy count, status, and expiration. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Datacenter usage
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/datacenter-usage
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/usage
Get bandwidth and request usage for the datacenter subaccount. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Get datacenter proxy list
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/get-datacenter-proxy-list
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/proxy-list
Get the datacenter proxy list for a subaccount. Filter by country, protocol, format, and status. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Manage IP whitelist
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/manage-ip-whitelist
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/whitelist
Manage the IP whitelist for a datacenter subaccount. All four operations share this endpoint via the required `type` query parameter.
**Operations and required permissions:**
- `get` — list current IPs (`datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`)
- `add` — append IPs without removing existing ones (`datacenter_shared:write` or `datacenter_dedicated:write`)
- `set` — replace the entire whitelist (`datacenter_shared:write` or `datacenter_dedicated:write`)
- `remove` — delete specific IPs (`datacenter_shared:delete` or `datacenter_dedicated:delete`)
**IP label format:** For `add` and `set`, each `ip[]` value may include a label prefix separated by a colon: `ip[]=Office:1.2.3.4`. Everything before the last colon is the label; the last segment is the IP.
**Rate limit:** Mutations (`add`, `set`, `remove`) are limited to 1 request per 30 minutes per subaccount.
**Propagation:** After a successful mutation, allow up to 10 minutes for IPs to synchronize across all proxies.
# Usage requests
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/datacenter/usage-requests
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/{subAccountId}/datacenter_shared/usage-requests
Get recent API usage requests for the datacenter subaccount. Permission: `datacenter_shared:read` or `datacenter_dedicated:read`.
# Get allowed permissions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/get-allowed-permissions
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/api-keys/allowed-permissions
Returns the flat list of permissions you may grant to API keys. Use this to populate a permissions UI or validate the `permissions` array when creating a key. Permission: `account:apikeys:read`.
# Get API key
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/get-api-key
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/api-keys/{id}
Get a single API key by its UUID. Returns metadata only — the secret is never returned after creation. Permission: `account:apikeys:read`.
# Get permission context
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/get-permission-context
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/api-keys/permission-context
Returns the permission structure and allowed permissions for your account. Use this to build permission selection UIs or validate permissions before creating a key. Permission: `account:apikeys:read`.
# List subaccounts
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/list-subaccounts
/openapi-account.json get /v4/account/subaccounts
List all subaccounts for the authenticated account. Each subaccount has its own products (datacenter, residential, etc.). Permission: `subaccount:read`.
# Get proxy list
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/public-api/get-proxy-list
/openapi-public.json get /v4/free-proxy-list/get
Returns a list of free proxies. Use query parameters to filter by protocol, country, timeout, anonymity, and more. Results can be displayed in the browser or returned for download.
# Regenerate API key
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api-reference/regenerate-api-key
/openapi-account.json post /v4/account/api-keys/{id}/regenerate
Regenerates an API key by revoking the old key and creating a new one with the same settings. **The old key is permanently deleted** — its `id` is no longer valid. The response contains a new `id` (UUID) which must be used for all future operations on this key. The new full token is returned **only in this response** — store it securely. You cannot regenerate the key you are currently using. Permission: `account:apikeys:regenerate`.

/openapi-account.json put /v4/account/api-keys/{id}
Update an API key's name, permissions, allowed_subaccounts, allowed_ips, expires_at, or is_active. The response includes an `updated_fields` array showing which fields changed. You cannot update the API key currently being used to authenticate the request — doing so returns 409. Note: sending an empty `permissions` array is silently ignored — permissions cannot be cleared via this endpoint. Permission: `account:apikeys:update`.
# API ordering
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/api-ordering
Place wallet-paid orders and read your wallet balance programmatically. No gateway redirect, no checkout UI.
The **API ordering** endpoints let you place orders from your own code, paid directly from your account's wallet balance. Same product catalogue and the same request shape as the marketing checkout — minus the gateway round-trip.
Both endpoints are **admin-grant-only**. They're off by default for every account. Contact support to enable `account:api_ordering:write` (place orders) and/or `account:api_ordering:read` (read wallet balance).
## Surface
| Endpoint | Permission | What it does |
| ----------------------------------------- | ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `POST /v4/account/orders/create` | `account:api_ordering:write` | Place a wallet-paid order. |
| `GET /v4/account/orders/{orderId}/status` | `account:api_ordering:read` | Poll an order's lifecycle and grab the new subaccount once processed. |
| `GET /v4/account/orders/balance` | `account:api_ordering:read` | Read the wallet balance (+ optional activity counts via `include_counts=1`). |
Both accept the same auth form as the rest of the Account API — see [Authentication](/api/account/authentication):
* `api-token: ` — send your API key in the `api-token` header.
## Place an order
The server forces `pay_with_credit=1` and `no_redirect=1` server-side — there's no gateway redirect, the wallet is debited atomically right after the order row is created, and the call returns the new order ID.
`email`, `fname`, and `lname` are derived from the authenticated identity. Omit them, or pass them explicitly to override.
### Per-product request shapes
Each `type` accepts a different set of product-specific fields, identical to what the marketing checkout submits.
```bash Premium (datacenter shared) theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "new_datacenter_shared",
"country": "Belgium",
"is_subscription": true,
"days": 30,
"proxies[mixed]": 1000,
"bandwidth": 0
}'
```
```bash Residential theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "new_residential",
"country": "Belgium",
"bandwidth": 10,
"duration": "30d"
}'
```
```bash Residential unlimited theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "new_residential_unlimited",
"country": "Belgium",
"location": "",
"speed": 200,
"days": 30
}'
```
```bash SERP API theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "new_serp_api",
"country": "Belgium",
"tokens": 100000,
"duration": "30d"
}'
```
**Field notes**
* `country` — Full country name (e.g. `"Belgium"`), not the ISO code. VAT is derived from it.
* `proxies[]` — Datacenter only. The location is one of `mixed`, `us`, `gb`, `de`, `fr`, `ca`, `es`, `it`, `br`, `th`. Value is the IP-pool size.
* `bandwidth` — Datacenter: `0` means unlimited. Residential: bandwidth pack in GB.
* `duration` — Omit for non-expiry residential / SERP packages. Otherwise `30d` / `60d` / `90d`.
* `location` — Residential unlimited only. Server-location ID; list them via the dashboard's Residential Unlimited page.
* `coupon_code` (optional) — Applied before any per-account API-ordering percentage discount.
* `account_id` (`update_*` only) — The `AccountID` of the subaccount to upgrade in place. Must be one you own. See [Upgrade an existing subaccount](#upgrade-an-existing-subaccount).
* `dry_run` (optional) — `true` returns a price quote without charging. See [Price quote (dry run)](#price-quote-dry-run).
### Response
For wallet-credit orders the `data` field is the bare order ID string:
```json theme={null}
{ "success": true, "data": "0bc1a40f-2a17-4c84-9b2b-f4b9d3e0b3a1" }
```
On failure:
```json theme={null}
{ "success": false, "error": "Missing or invalid pricing configuration." }
```
Common errors:
| Status | Error | When |
| ------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 400 | `Missing or invalid pricing configuration.` | The `type` + parameter combo doesn't match a buyable package. |
| 400 | `Insufficient wallet balance.` | Wallet doesn't cover the order total at debit time. |
| 400 | `account_id is required for update_* order types.` | An `update_*` type was sent without an `account_id`. |
| 401 | `Could not determine account email from authenticated identity.` | API token is missing or invalid. |
| 403 | `API ordering is not enabled for this account. Contact support to request access.` | Account doesn't have `account:api_ordering:write`. |
| 403 | `The account_id does not belong to the authenticated account.` | An `update_*` request named an `account_id` that isn't in your subaccount list. |
## Upgrade an existing subaccount
To modify a subaccount you already own — more proxies/tokens, more bandwidth, or extended duration — use the matching `update_*` type and pass the target subaccount's `account_id`. The order is paid from your wallet just like a new purchase; the difference is it modifies the existing subaccount in place instead of provisioning a new one.
`account_id` is the `AccountID` returned by `/v4/account/subaccounts` (or by the order-status `subaccount.AccountID` when the subaccount was first created via the API).
```bash Premium (datacenter shared) — bump 1,000 → 2,000 proxies theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "update_datacenter_shared",
"account_id": "fe7941e6-1eed-4d95-881a-3159901897d3",
"days": 1,
"proxies[mixed]": 2000,
"bandwidth": 250,
"is_subscription": false
}'
```
```bash SERP API — top up tokens theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "update_serp_api",
"account_id": "fe7941e6-1eed-4d95-881a-3159901897d3",
"tokens": 200000
}'
```
`account_id` **must** be a subaccount that belongs to the authenticated account — it has to appear in your `/v4/account/subaccounts` list. A request naming an `account_id` you don't own is rejected with `403`. Omitting `account_id` on an `update_*` type is an error; to create a brand-new subaccount, use the corresponding `new_*` type instead.
Available upgrade types: `update_datacenter_shared`, `update_datacenter_dedicated`, `update_residential`, `update_residential_unlimited`, `update_serp_api`. The product-specific fields are the same as the matching `new_*` type. Downgrades (fewer proxies/tokens than the current plan) are not supported over the API.
## Price quote (dry run)
Send `dry_run: true` alongside any order request — `new_*` or `update_*` — to get the computed price **without creating an order or debiting your wallet**. The request shape is otherwise identical to the order you'd place, so you can quote and then submit by flipping a single flag.
```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/create' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-H 'api-token: ' \
-d '{
"type": "update_datacenter_shared",
"account_id": "fe7941e6-1eed-4d95-881a-3159901897d3",
"days": 1,
"proxies[mixed]": 2000,
"bandwidth": 250,
"is_subscription": false,
"dry_run": true
}'
```
The `data` field carries the quote rather than an order ID:
```json theme={null}
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"title": "Update ProxyScrape premium",
"description": " and 1 day extra.",
"original_price": "26.10",
"price": "13.05",
"extra_days": 1,
"discount": { "...": "present only if an API-ordering discount applies" },
"coupon": { "...": "present only if a coupon_code was supplied" }
}
}
```
* `price` is the amount that will be debited from your wallet (pre-VAT; for `update_*` it's already net of credit for unused time on the current plan).
* `original_price` is the price before any coupon / per-account discount.
* A dry run works on **zero wallet balance** — it never reaches the balance check, so use it to preview cost before funding.
* A dry run requires the same `account:api_ordering:write` permission as a real order (it's the same endpoint).
## Check order status
`POST /v4/account/orders/create` returns the order ID synchronously, but the **order processor** that turns the order into a usable subaccount runs asynchronously. For wallet-paid orders this typically takes well under a second, but it's not guaranteed.
Poll `GET /v4/account/orders/{orderId}/status` every 1–2 seconds until `status === "processed"`. At that point `data.subaccount` is populated with the same shape as `/v4/account/subaccounts` entries — you can drop it straight into per-product endpoints.
```bash theme={null}
curl -X GET 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/0bc1a40f-2a17-4c84-9b2b-f4b9d3e0b3a1/status' \
-H 'api-token: '
```
**While processing:**
```json theme={null}
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"order_id": "0bc1a40f-2a17-4c84-9b2b-f4b9d3e0b3a1",
"status": "paid",
"type": "new_datacenter_shared",
"created_at": 1717000000,
"updated_at": 1717000000,
"price": "26.10",
"currency": "USD",
"paid_with_credit": true,
"subaccount": null
}
}
```
**Once processed:**
```json theme={null}
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"order_id": "0bc1a40f-2a17-4c84-9b2b-f4b9d3e0b3a1",
"status": "processed",
"type": "new_datacenter_shared",
"created_at": 1717000000,
"updated_at": 1717000010,
"price": "26.10",
"currency": "USD",
"paid_with_credit": true,
"subaccount": {
"AccountID": "9e4d49b0-c999-46f6-aa98-47476a6aef0b",
"AccountType": "datacenter_shared",
"label": "Account 8 (Premium)",
"time_added": 1717000010
}
}
}
```
The `AccountID` is the value you pass as `{subAccountId}` to the product endpoints:
```
GET /v4/account/9e4d49b0-c999-46f6-aa98-47476a6aef0b/datacenter_shared/proxy-list
```
### Sample polling loop
```python theme={null}
import time
import requests
def wait_for_subaccount(order_id, api_token, *, timeout=30, interval=1.5):
headers = {'api-token': api_token}
deadline = time.monotonic() + timeout
while time.monotonic() < deadline:
r = requests.get(
f'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/{order_id}/status',
headers=headers,
timeout=10,
)
r.raise_for_status()
data = r.json()['data']
if data['status'] == 'processed':
return data['subaccount']
if data['status'] in ('blocked', 'failed', 'refunded'):
raise RuntimeError(f"order rejected: {data.get('block_reason') or data['status']}")
time.sleep(interval)
raise TimeoutError(f'order {order_id} did not process within {timeout}s')
```
### Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `paid` | Wallet was debited; the processor will pick the order up shortly. Keep polling. |
| `processed` | Subaccount has been created. `data.subaccount` is populated. Stop polling. |
| `blocked` | Rejected by the fraud / pricing guards. `data.block_reason` carries the specific cause. |
| `failed` | Processing failed. Stop polling and surface support contact. |
| `refunded` | Order was refunded (admin action). The subaccount is no longer valid. |
### Errors
| Status | Error | When |
| ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 401 | `Could not determine account email from authenticated identity.` | API token is missing or invalid. |
| 403 | `Reading order status via the API-ordering endpoint is not enabled for this account. Contact support to request access.` | Account doesn't have `account:api_ordering:read`. |
| 404 | `Order not found.` | Either the ID doesn't exist, or it belongs to a different account. The endpoint deliberately does **not** distinguish the two so existence can't be probed. |
## Read wallet balance
```bash theme={null}
curl -X GET 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/balance' \
-H 'api-token: '
```
```json theme={null}
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"balance": 42.50,
"currency": "USD"
}
}
```
Pass `include_counts=1` when you also need activity counts:
```bash theme={null}
curl -X GET 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/orders/balance?include_counts=1' \
-H 'api-token: '
```
```json theme={null}
{
"success": true,
"data": {
"balance": 42.50,
"currency": "USD",
"topups_count": 8,
"purchases_count": 30
}
}
```
| Field | Description |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `balance` | Current wallet credit. |
| `currency` | Always `USD`. |
| `topups_count` | Number of processed wallet top-up orders. Only present when `include_counts=1`. |
| `purchases_count` | Number of wallet-credit purchases, excluding cancelled/refunded. Only present when `include_counts=1`. |
The endpoint scopes the read to the authenticated identity — a token can only ever read its own wallet.
## Coupons and discounts
You can pass a `coupon_code` field on `POST /v4/account/orders/create`. The order then applies, in this order:
1. **Coupon code** (if any) — percent or fixed amount off the product price.
2. **Per-account API-ordering percentage** (if your account has one) — applied on top of the post-coupon price.
Coupons cannot be applied to wallet top-ups; the server rejects the request.
If your account has an active API-ordering discount, it shows up in the dashboard playground banner and in the `me` endpoint's `api_ordering_discount` field. The percentage is applied automatically — no flag to set.
## Try it in the dashboard
The dashboard hosts a live playground for both endpoints at **[/account/api-orders](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-orders)**. It builds the request body interactively, renders cURL / Python / Node snippets, and runs the request against your real wallet so you can verify everything works end-to-end before wiring it into your code.
## Permissions
These two permissions are documented in the [permission reference](/api/account/permission-reference#api-ordering-permissions-3-part-accountapi_orderingaction):
* `account:api_ordering:write` — required for `POST /v4/account/orders/create`.
* `account:api_ordering:read` — required for `GET /v4/account/orders/balance`.
Both are admin-grant-only and don't appear in the standard permissions picker. To enable them on your account, [contact support](mailto:support@proxyscrape.com).
# Authentication
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/authentication
Send your API key in the api-token header and use the correct base URL and path prefix.
To call the Account API with an API key, send the key in the `api-token` header and use the base URL and path prefix below.
## Sending the API key
Include your key in every request using the `api-token` header:
```bash theme={null}
api-token:
```
Example with cURL:
```bash theme={null}
curl -X GET "https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/api-keys" \
-H "api-token: YOUR_64_CHARACTER_API_KEY"
```
Keep your API key secret. Do not commit it to version control or expose it in client-side code.
## Base URL and path prefix
* **Base URL:** `https://api.proxyscrape.com`
* **Path prefix:** `/v4/account` for account and API key management (e.g. `/v4/account/api-keys`).
All Account API endpoints are under this base URL and prefix.
Create an API key and use it with the api-token header.
# Create a key
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/create
Create your first API key from the dashboard; create additional keys via the dashboard or the API.
You can create API keys from the **dashboard** (required for your first key) or programmatically via the API for additional keys.
## Create via Dashboard
In the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-keys), open the **profile icon** (top right), then select **API Keys** from the dropdown.
Click the **+ Create API Key** button to open the creation form.
The creation modal has the following fields:
* **Name** (required) — A label for the key, e.g. "CI pipeline" or "Backend service".
* **Expiration** (optional) — Toggle on and pick a date if you want the key to expire automatically.
* **IP Restrictions** (optional) — Add one or more IP addresses or CIDR ranges. When set, only requests from these IPs can use the key.
* **Subaccount Access** (optional) — Select specific subaccounts the key can access. Leave empty to allow access to all subaccounts.
* **Permissions** (required) — Select which actions the key can perform. Permissions are grouped into **Account Management** (manage API keys themselves) and **Product** (datacenter, residential, etc.). Use the bulk buttons ("Read All", "Write All", "Delete All") to quickly assign permissions across products.
See [Permissions](/api/account/permissions) for details on permission types, the [permission reference](/api/account/permission-reference) for the full list of permissions, and [Scopes and restrictions](/api/account/scopes-restrictions) for more on restrictions.
After clicking **Create**, the dashboard displays your new API key token. **This is the only time the full token is shown** — copy it and store it securely.
The full token is shown only once at creation. If you lose it, you will need to [regenerate](/api/account/lifecycle) the key to get a new secret.
## Create via API
For automation and scripting, you can create keys programmatically. This requires an existing API key with `account:apikeys:create` permission.
**POST /v4/account/api-keys**
### Request body
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------- | -------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `name` | string | Yes | A label for the key (e.g. "CI pipeline", "Backend service"). |
| `permissions` | array of strings | Yes | List of permission identifiers (e.g. `datacenter_shared:read`, `account:apikeys:read`). |
| `allowed_subaccounts` | array of strings | No | Subaccount IDs this key can act on. Empty or omitted = all subaccounts the creator can access. |
| `allowed_ips` | array of strings | No | Allowed client IPs (single IP or CIDR). Omitted = no IP restriction. |
| `expires_at` | integer (Unix timestamp) or null | No | When the key expires. Must be in the future. Omit or `null` for no expiry. |
You can only assign permissions that your own key or session is allowed. Use [GET /v4/account/api-keys/allowed-permissions](/api/account/permissions) to see which permissions you can grant.
### Response
On success, the response includes the new API key object. **The full token (secret) is returned only once** at creation. Store it securely; you cannot retrieve it again. To get a new secret, use the [regenerate](/api/account/lifecycle) endpoint.

# Errors
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/errors
HTTP 401 and 403 and standard error shape for Account API requests.
The Account API uses standard HTTP status codes and a consistent error shape for failed requests.
## 401 Unauthorized
Returned when authentication fails or is missing:
* **Missing auth** — No `api-token` header, or header empty.
* **Invalid token** — The API key is malformed or not recognized.
* **Expired token** — The API key has passed its `expires_at`.
* **Revoked key** — The API key has been deleted (revoked); the API returns 401 with message "Invalid token" (same as invalid or expired).
Fix: Provide a valid, non-expired API key in the `api-token` header.
## 403 Forbidden
Returned when the request is authenticated but not allowed:
* **Insufficient permissions** — The key does not have a permission required for the operation (e.g. missing `account:apikeys:delete` when calling DELETE on an API key).
* **IP not allowed** — The key has `allowed_ips` and the request's client IP is not in that list.
* **Subaccount not allowed** — The key has `allowed_subaccounts` and the request targets a subaccount not in that list.
The response body includes `success` (false), `error`, `required` (array of permissions the endpoint needs), and `your_permissions` (array of the key's permissions).
Fix: Use a key with the right permissions, call from an allowed IP, or target an allowed subaccount.
## Standard error shape
Error responses include an `error` (or `message`) field with a short description. For 403 permission denied, the body also includes `required` and `your_permissions`. Check the response body for the exact structure.
# Manage keys
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/lifecycle
View, edit, regenerate, and revoke API keys from the dashboard or API.
You can manage your API keys from the **[dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-keys)** or programmatically via the API. The dashboard gives you a visual overview of all keys and quick access to edit, regenerate, or revoke them.
## Manage keys in the Dashboard
### View your keys
Open the **profile icon** (top right) in the dashboard and select **API Keys**, or go to **[/account/api-keys](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-keys)**. The table shows each key's name, permissions summary, status (active / inactive), creation date, expiry, and available actions.
You can search by name and filter by **Status** (`All`, `Active`, or `Inactive`). Deactivating a key (via edit → toggle inactive) keeps it in the list under **All** / **Inactive** — it stops working for authentication until you reactivate it. Revoking (delete) permanently removes the key.
### Edit a key
Click the **edit** icon on any key row to open the edit modal. You can change the key's name, permissions, subaccount access, IP restrictions, expiration, and active status. The same form fields from [creation](/api/account/create) are available.
### Regenerate a secret
If a key's secret has been compromised or you need a new one, use the **regenerate** action from the key's row. The old secret stops working immediately and a new one is displayed.
After regenerating, the new secret is shown only once. Copy and store it immediately.
### Revoke (delete) a key
Click the **delete** icon on the key row. Revoking a key permanently removes it — it can no longer be used for authentication.
## Manage keys via API
For automation and scripting, all key management operations are available via the API. Each request must be authenticated with an API key that has the required permission.
### List keys
**GET /v4/account/api-keys**
Returns API keys for the account. Response includes key id, name, permissions, `allowed_subaccounts`, `allowed_ips`, `expires_at`, `is_active`, and related metadata (the secret is never included).
**Query parameters**
| Param | Values | Description |
| -------- | ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `status` | `all` (default), `active`, `inactive` | Filter by key status. Inactive keys are included in `all` and `inactive`. |
| `search` | string | Case-insensitive substring match on the key name. |
| `page` | integer ≥ 1 | Page number (with `limit`). |
| `limit` | integer ≥ 1 | Page size. When set, the response includes a `meta` object (`total`, `page`, `limit`, `totalPages`). |
```bash theme={null}
curl -X GET 'https://api.proxyscrape.com/v4/account/api-keys?status=inactive&limit=10&page=1' \
-H 'api-token: '
```
Requires `account:apikeys:read` permission.
### Get by ID
**GET /v4/account/api-keys/:id**
Returns a single API key by ID. The full token (secret) is never returned after creation; only metadata is available.
### Update a key
**PUT /v4/account/api-keys/:id**
Update the key's name, permissions, `allowed_subaccounts`, `allowed_ips`, `expires_at`, or `is_active`. Same body shape as [create](/api/account/create). Requires `account:apikeys:update` permission.
### Regenerate secret
**POST /v4/account/api-keys/:id/regenerate**
Generates a new secret for the key. The old secret stops working immediately. **The new secret is returned only in this response** — store it securely. Requires `account:apikeys:regenerate` permission.
You cannot regenerate the key you are currently using to authenticate the request. Use another API key to regenerate it.
### Revoke (delete) a key
**DELETE /v4/account/api-keys/:id**
Permanently revokes the key. It can no longer be used for authentication. Requires `account:apikeys:delete` permission.
You cannot delete the key you are currently using. Use another API key to revoke it.
# Account API overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/overview
What API keys are and how they work across ProxyScrape products.
API keys are long-lived, account-level credentials you use to authenticate with the ProxyScrape Account API. Use them for scripts, automation, and server-side integrations.
You can create and manage API keys from the **[dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/account/api-keys)** or programmatically via the API. The dashboard is the easiest way to get started.
## What are API keys?
* **64-character secrets** — Each key is a 64-character string returned once when you create it. Store it securely; you cannot retrieve the full secret again.
* **Account-level** — Keys are tied to your ProxyScrape account (or subaccount) and can access multiple products according to the permissions you grant.
* **Multi-product** — A single key can have permissions for datacenter, residential, residential\_unlimited, SERP API, and subaccount management, depending on what your account is allowed to use.

# Permission reference
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/permission-reference
Reference of product (2-part) and account API key (3-part) permissions.
This page lists the permission identifiers you can assign to API keys. The full structure (including any account-specific variations) is available from **GET /v4/account/api-keys/permission-context**.
## Product permissions (2-part: resource:action)
Permissions follow the form `resource:action`. Typical actions:
* **read** — Read proxy lists, account/product info, and list resources.
* **write** — Create or update resources (e.g. whitelist, settings).
* **delete** — Revoke access, remove resources, or delete data.
| Permission | Description |
| ------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `datacenter_shared:read` | Read shared datacenter proxy list and account info. |
| `datacenter_shared:write` | Manage shared datacenter settings (e.g. whitelist). |
| `datacenter_shared:delete` | Revoke or remove shared datacenter access. |
| `datacenter_dedicated:read` | Read dedicated datacenter proxy list and account info. |
| `datacenter_dedicated:write` | Manage dedicated datacenter settings (e.g. whitelist). |
| `datacenter_dedicated:delete` | Revoke or remove dedicated datacenter access. |
| `residential:read` | Read residential proxy list and account info. |
| `residential:write` | Create, update, and reset password for residential subusers. |
| `residential:delete` | Revoke or remove residential access. |
| `residential_unlimited:read` | Read residential\_unlimited proxy list and account info. |
| `residential_unlimited:write` | Manage residential\_unlimited settings (e.g. whitelist). |
| `residential_unlimited:delete` | Revoke or remove residential\_unlimited access. Not used by any Account API endpoint currently. |
| `serp_api:read` | Read SERP API usage and account info. |
| `serp_api:write` | Manage SERP API settings. |
| `serp_api:delete` | Revoke or remove SERP API access. |
The permission-context endpoint returns the full set of permissions available for your account.
### Subaccount permissions
| Permission | Description |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| `subaccount:read` | List subaccounts, get preferences, countries available. |
| `subaccount:write` | Update subaccount preferences. |
## Account API key permissions (3-part: account:apikeys:action)
These permissions control API key management for the account. They are **account** permissions: they apply in the context of the account whose keys you are managing.
| Permission | Description |
| ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| `account:apikeys:create` | Create new API keys for the account. |
| `account:apikeys:read` | List and view API keys for the account. |
| `account:apikeys:update` | Edit key name and permissions for the account. |
| `account:apikeys:delete` | Revoke (delete) API keys for the account. |
| `account:apikeys:regenerate` | Regenerate the key secret for the account. |
## API ordering permissions (3-part: account:api\_ordering:action)
Gate the [headless ordering surface](/api/account/api-ordering). Both are **admin-grant-only** — they don't appear in the dashboard's allowed-permissions picker by default. Contact support to request them.
| Permission | Description |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `account:api_ordering:write` | Place wallet-paid orders via `POST /v4/account/orders/create`. |
| `account:api_ordering:read` | Read the wallet balance via `GET /v4/account/orders/balance` (optional `include_counts=1` for activity counts). Required for API keys; dashboard JWT callers do not need this grant. |
For the complete, up-to-date list and structure (including any account-specific permissions), call **GET /v4/account/api-keys/permission-context**.
# Permissions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/permissions
How API key permissions work, how to choose them in the dashboard, and how to discover them via the API.
API keys are granted a set of **permissions** that define what the key can do. You can choose permissions visually in the dashboard or query the API for the available set.
## Choosing permissions in the Dashboard
When you [create](/api/account/create) or [edit](/api/account/lifecycle) an API key, the modal displays a structured permissions picker with two sections:
* **Account Management** — Permissions for managing API keys themselves (`create`, `read`, `update`, `delete`, `regenerate`).
* **Product Permissions** — Permissions for each product your account has access to (datacenter, residential, residential unlimited, SERP API, subaccounts). Each product shows `read`, `write`, and `delete` toggles.
Use the **bulk action buttons** ("Read All", "Write All", "Delete All") to quickly select permissions across all products. Only permissions your account is allowed to grant are shown.
## Permission format
* **Two-part (product) permissions:** `resource:action`
Examples: `datacenter_shared:read`, `residential:write`, `serp_api:delete`.
The resource is a product or area (e.g. datacenter\_shared, residential, serp\_api); the action is typically `read`, `write`, or `delete`.
* **Three-part (Account API key) permissions:** `account:apikeys:action`
Examples: `account:apikeys:create`, `account:apikeys:read`, `account:apikeys:update`, `account:apikeys:delete`, `account:apikeys:regenerate`.
These control whether the key can create, list, update, delete, or regenerate API keys for the account.
## How allowed permissions are determined
You can only assign permissions that your account is allowed. The available set depends on your account's products and plan.
## Discovering allowed permissions via API
* **GET /v4/account/api-keys/permission-context** — Returns the full structure of available permissions (resources, actions, and account API key permissions) and how they apply to your account.
* **GET /v4/account/api-keys/allowed-permissions** — Returns the flat list of permission strings you are allowed to grant (e.g. for building a custom UI or validating the `permissions` array when creating a key programmatically).
Both endpoints return the payload directly: `allowed-permissions` returns `{ allowed_permissions: [...] }`, and `permission-context` returns `{ structure, allowed_permissions }` — there is no `success` or `data` wrapper.
Quick reference of product and account API key permissions.
# Scopes and restrictions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/account/scopes-restrictions
Limit API key access with subaccount scoping, IP restrictions, and expiration.
When you [create](/api/account/create) or [edit](/api/account/lifecycle) an API key, you can narrow its scope and add restrictions. These are available in both the dashboard and the API.
## Setting restrictions in the Dashboard
All three restrictions are configurable in the Create and Edit API Key modals.
### Subaccount access
The **Subaccount Access** dropdown lets you select which subaccounts the key can act on. Each subaccount is shown with its label and a color-coded chip indicating the product type (e.g. datacenter, residential). Leave the selection empty to allow access to all subaccounts.
### IP restrictions
The **IP Restrictions** field lets you add one or more IPv4/IPv6 addresses or CIDR ranges (e.g. `192.168.1.0/24`). When set, only requests from these IPs can use the key.
If you set IP restrictions, make sure your deployment IPs (or CIDR) are included, or requests from those IPs will fail with 403.
### Expiration
Toggle **Expiration** on to set a date and time after which the key automatically becomes invalid. Useful for temporary keys (e.g. short-lived automation or contractor access).
## API field reference
When creating or updating keys via the API, these fields control scope and restrictions:
### allowed\_subaccounts
* **Type:** array of strings (subaccount IDs), or empty/omitted.
* **Meaning:** Limits which subaccounts the key can act on. Only relevant when the key is used in a context that has multiple subaccounts.
* **Empty or omitted:** The key can act on **all** subaccounts the creator can access.
* **Non-empty:** The key can act only on the listed subaccount IDs. Requests for other subaccounts will be denied (e.g. 403).
### allowed\_ips
* **Type:** array of strings. Each string is a single IPv4/IPv6 address or a CIDR block (e.g. `192.168.1.0/24`).
* **Meaning:** Restricts which client IPs can use this key. Requests from other IPs receive 403.
* **Omitted or empty:** No IP restriction; the key can be used from any IP.
### expires\_at
* **Type:** integer (Unix timestamp) or `null`. Optional; must be in the future. Omitted is treated as no expiry.
* **Meaning:** After this time, the key is invalid and requests using it receive 401.
* **`null` or omitted:** The key does not expire unless you revoke or regenerate it.
Use `expires_at` for temporary keys (e.g. short-lived automation or contractors) to avoid having to remember to revoke them.
# SERP API overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/api/serp-api/overview
Query Google search results as structured JSON over a single authenticated GET request.
The **SERP API** returns parsed Google search results as JSON. You make a single
`GET` request to the search host, authenticated with **HTTP Basic Auth**, and get
back the organic results, related searches, and — optionally — the raw HTML of
the results page.
The SERP API is billed by **credits**: each successful search consumes credits from
your active SERP API plan. Add a SERP API package and top up credits from the
[dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/serp-api).
## How it works
1. **Order a SERP API package** and create a **sub-user** from the dashboard. Each
sub-user has its own `username` / `password` — these are the credentials you
send as HTTP Basic Auth.
2. **Send a `GET` request** to the search host with your query parameters. See the
[Search reference](/api-reference/serp-api/search) for the full parameter list.
3. **Read the JSON response** — organic results live under `results[0].Organic`.
```bash theme={null}
curl "https://serp.api.proxyscrape.com/?q=proxyscrape&gl=us&hl=en&start=0&rawhtml=0" \
-u ":"
```
## Authentication
Every request uses **HTTP Basic Auth**. The username and password are the
credentials of a **SERP API sub-user**, not your ProxyScrape account login.
* Create and manage sub-users in the dashboard under **Services → SERP API**.
* Credentials are sent with the standard `Authorization: Basic ` header —
any HTTP client's basic-auth helper (`-u` for cURL, `auth` for axios/requests)
builds this for you.
## Try it in the dashboard
The **SERP API playground** lets you build a request, run it against your own
sub-user, and copy ready-to-run code in NodeJS, Python, PHP, and cURL:

# How Affiliate Payouts Work?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/how-affiliate-payouts-work
Learn how the ProxyScrape Affiliate Program works, including how commissions are earned, when payouts are available, and the requirements for receiving your affiliate earnings.
Here’s how affiliate commissions are earned and paid through the ProxyScrape Affiliate Program. This guide also answers some of the most common questions from our affiliates.
### What Earns Commission
* You earn commission only when a referred customer **purchases a product**.
**Wallet top-ups do not count as purchases.** Commission is credited only when the referred customer uses their wallet balance to purchase a product, not when they add funds to their wallet.
### How Much You Earn
* You earn your commission percentage based on the **net value of each qualifying purchase**. This amount excludes **VAT, taxes, and payment-processing fees**.
### When Your Commission Is Confirmed
* A commission is **cleared 30 days after the referred customer's payment**. This is a holding period, not the payout date.
*Example: A purchase made on the 15th clears approximately 30 days later and is then paid out in the next payout cycle, at the start of the following month.*
> **Note:** The 30-day clearing period helps ensure that commissions are finalized before they become eligible for payout. Once cleared, the commission is included in the next scheduled payout cycle.
### When Your Commission Is Paid
* Cleared commissions are paid out **during the first 14 days of each calendar month**.
### How You Get Paid
* Payouts are issued through our payout partner, **Tremendous**, rather than directly through PayPal or any other payment method. The payout email is sent to your **registered affiliate email address**, where you can choose your preferred redemption method.
**Tip:** Keep your registered affiliate email address up to date so you don’t miss your payout notification from Tremendous.
*For the exact and binding terms of the Affiliate Program, please refer to the **Affiliate Program** section of our [Terms and Conditions](https://proxyscrape.com/terms-and-conditions#affiliate).*

# Are the proxies HTTP(s), Socks4, or Socks5?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/are-the-proxies-http-s-socks4-or-socks5
Which proxy protocols ProxyScrape supports: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5.
> **SOCKS4 is not supported on any paid product.** If you are seeing SOCKS4 connection errors, this is expected — only our [free proxy list](https://proxyscrape.com/free-proxy-list) includes SOCKS4. All paid proxy types (Premium, Dedicated, Residential, and ISP) support **SOCKS5 only**, alongside HTTP.
The datacenter, residential, ISP, and free proxy options support the following protocols.
## Premium proxies
The [premium proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) support:
* HTTP
* Socks5 (TCP & UDP)
## Dedicated proxies
The [dedicated proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies) support:
* HTTP
* Socks5 (TCP)
> **Note:** Socks5 is the only Socks protocol we support for datacenter proxies. Both [premium proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [dedicated proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies) are suitable for high-bandwidth activities.
## Residential proxies
* HTTP
* Socks5 (TCP only)
## ISP proxies
The [ISP proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/isp-proxies) support:
* HTTP
* Socks5 (TCP & UDP)
## Free proxies
Our [free proxy list](https://proxyscrape.com/free-proxy-list) includes:
* HTTP
* Socks4
* Socks5
## Choosing HTTP vs. Socks5
If you selected HTTP when purchasing but are connecting on a Socks5 port (or vice versa), your connection will fail or time out. Double-check that the protocol in your client/tool matches the protocol of the `host:port` you were given — the port number is tied to a specific protocol and cannot be reused for the other protocol.
## Ports are fixed
The port assigned to your proxy is fixed and should not be manually changed (for example, swapping port `1080` for `1081`). Using an unassigned or incorrect port can cause instability or unexpected bandwidth usage. See [What ports do the proxies use?](/proxies/what-ports-do-the-proxies-use) for the full list of supported ports.
If your proxies still aren't connecting after confirming the protocol and port, see [Why are proxies not working?](/proxies/why-are-proxies-not-working).
# Are these rotating proxies?

Yes, the [ISP proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/isp-proxies) are static. Each IP is dedicated to you and stays the same for the duration of your plan.
# Browser extension
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/browser-extension
Route your browser traffic through your ProxyScrape proxies using the browser extension.
The ProxyScrape browser extension lets you route your browser's traffic through your proxies without changing your operating system's network settings. It works with any of our datacenter proxy products ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)) as well as [Residential](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) proxies.
## Install the extension
Install the ProxyScrape extension from your browser's extension store (available for Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, and Brave).
Pin the extension so its icon stays visible next to the address bar for quick access.
## Add a proxy
Click the ProxyScrape icon in your browser toolbar.
Add the proxy's **host**, **port**, and **protocol** (HTTP or SOCKS5). You can find these in your dashboard:
* **Premium:** [Proxy List](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/proxy-list/)
* **Dedicated:** [Proxy List](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/dedicated/proxy-list/)
* **Residential:** [Proxy Setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/)
If you use username and password authentication, enter your username and password. If you use IP authentication instead, make sure your current IP is authenticated first — see [How to authenticate my IP?](/proxies/how-to-authenticate-my-ip).
Toggle the proxy on. Your browser traffic now routes through the selected proxy.
The extension only affects traffic from the browser it is installed in. Other applications on your device continue to use your normal connection.
You can save multiple proxies in the extension and switch between them without re-entering their details.

How to authenticate ProxyScrape Dedicated ISP proxies.
Dedicated ISP proxies authenticate with **username and password**. Your credentials are shown on the **Proxy list** page in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/isp/proxy-list/).
# Latency and speed
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/dedicated-isp/latency-and-speed
Latency and speed characteristics of ProxyScrape Dedicated ISP proxies.
## Latency
Latency depends on how close you are to the ISP server — the closer you are, the faster the connection. In general you can expect latency in the range of **50–400 ms**.
## Speed
**There is no set speed cap on Dedicated ISP proxies (Mbps).** This is the main advantage of the product and the point we most want to highlight: you get the full throughput the network can deliver.
The only exception is a fair-use safeguard: if your usage is **sustained above \~100 Mbps**, we may apply rate limiting to keep the network stable and fair for all users. This is not a fixed per-connection speed limit — normal usage is never capped.
## Why my measured speed can be lower than expected
Even though there is no fixed cap, the speed and response time you actually experience depend on several factors outside the proxy itself:
* **Distance between you and the proxy server** — the farther you are, the higher the latency.
* **Your own network/device conditions** — local bandwidth, Wi-Fi quality, or too many concurrent threads on one device can slow things down.
* **The target website's response time** — a slow or rate-limiting target will make requests feel slow even if the proxy itself is fast.
If you consistently measure much lower throughput than expected on a specific IP, contact support with the affected IP(s), your location, and a screenshot of your test so we can check for an issue on our end.
## Comparing speed across proxy types
Dedicated ISP proxies are one of several ProxyScrape products. For typical latency and speed expectations of Premium, Dedicated, Residential, and Mobile proxies, see [How fast are the proxies?](/proxies/how-fast-are-the-proxies). You can also test any proxy's live response time with the [proxy checker](https://proxyscrape.com/proxy-checker) — see [Using proxies in the ProxyScrape proxy checker](/proxies/using-proxies-in-the-proxy-checker).
# Dedicated ISP proxies overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/dedicated-isp/overview
What ProxyScrape Dedicated ISP proxies are — static, dedicated IPs registered to real ISPs.
[Dedicated ISP proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/isp-proxies) combine residential-level trust with datacenter speed and stability: the IPs are hosted in datacenters but registered to real Internet Service Providers. This page covers the standalone Dedicated ISP product.
## Dedicated, static IPs
* Each IP is **private and dedicated to you** — it is not shared with other customers.
* The IPs are **static**: they do not rotate and stay the same for the duration of your plan.
* An ISP account is tied to a **single country**, and proxies are priced per IP.
* **Protocols:** HTTP and SOCKS5. The SOCKS5 proxies support **both TCP and UDP**.
For details on how to connect and use your ISP proxies, see:
* [Authentication](/proxies/dedicated-isp/authentication)
* [Protocols and endpoints](/proxies/dedicated-isp/protocols-and-endpoints)
* [Latency and speed](/proxies/dedicated-isp/latency-and-speed)
This page describes the standalone Dedicated ISP product. It is separate from the experimental ISP option that appears inside the Residential Proxy Setup screen (a pool of shared static ISP proxies), which is a different offering.
# Protocols and endpoints
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/dedicated-isp/protocols-and-endpoints
Protocols supported by Dedicated ISP proxies and how each proxy's host:port is delivered.
## Protocols
Both **HTTP and SOCKS5** are served on the same credentials and the same `host:port` — switching protocol only changes how each proxy is labelled, never the endpoint. The SOCKS5 proxies support **both TCP and UDP**.
## Endpoints (host:port)
There is no single fixed port. Each proxy is delivered as its own `host:port` pair on the **Proxy list** page in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/isp/proxy-list/), which you can view and download in your preferred format.

# How fast are the proxies?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/how-fast-are-the-proxies
Expected speed and performance of ProxyScrape proxy types.
## Datacenter proxies
The average timeout of our datacenter proxies ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)) is 500ms, regardless of protocol:
* HTTP: 500ms
* Socks5: 500ms
With a total network capacity of over 20Gbps, this proxy type should suit the majority of high-speed use cases.
## Dedicated ISP proxies
For the latency and speed characteristics of our Dedicated ISP proxies, see [Dedicated ISP — Latency and speed](/proxies/dedicated-isp/latency-and-speed).
## Residential proxies
Our [residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) are back connect proxies — this means when you connect to our proxy network it will redirect your connection to the proxy device. Because of this, the connection speed might differ a bit sometimes but we try to keep it as low as possible. With a median speed of 1000ms, the proxies are suitable for the majority of high-demanding use cases.
## Free proxies
These are [public proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/free-proxy-list) that are available all over the internet. You can configure the preferred timeout of the proxies on [our website](https://proxyscrape.com/free-proxy-list) with a maximum of 10 000ms and a minimum of 50ms. Due to the fact that the proxies are public, we are unable to control the exact timeout and the timeout might quickly change when the proxy becomes overloaded by other users.
If you need fast and stable proxies we recommend our [premium proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium).
> Please note that these timings are made in optimal conditions. The timeout of proxies also depends on your location relative to the proxy, your internet speed & device performance, and the performance of the target website or service.
There are a lot of factors to consider when measuring proxy performance.
# How to authenticate my IP?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/how-to-authenticate-my-ip
Learn how to authenticate your IP for Premium and Dedicated proxies and how long to wait before first use.
IP authentication is available for our datacenter [**Premium**](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [**Dedicated**](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies) proxies. It allows you to whitelist your device's IP address so our proxy network can recognize it. Note that [**Residential**](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) proxies use username and password authentication instead.
### Premium proxies
Go to the ["Proxy List"](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/proxy-list/) section of the dashboard.
Click on "Prefer IP authentication instead?"
Choose "My IP" or manually enter the IP address of the device you will be using with the proxies.
Click "Save."
### Dedicated proxies
Go to the [IP authentication page](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/dedicated/ip-authentication/) in your dashboard.
**Using this device:** Click the "My IP" button to use your current device's IP.
**Using another device:** On that device, open [https://api.ipify.org/](https://api.ipify.org/) and copy the displayed IP into the IP address box on your dashboard.
Click "Save" to complete the authentication.
Only **IPv4** is supported, not IPv6.
After saving, wait about **10 minutes** before using the proxies. This allows your IP to sync across the network. Using the proxies sooner may cause connection failures.
# Host, port, and authentication
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/mobile/host-port-and-authentication
The host, port, and authentication used by ProxyScrape Mobile proxies.
Mobile proxies use the **same per-account host and port** as your Regular Residential proxies, and the **same authentication** — username and password, or IP authentication. Copy the exact host, port, and credentials from the [Residential Proxy Setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/) page.
# Locations
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/mobile/locations
The fixed list of locations available for ProxyScrape Mobile proxies.
Mobile proxies use a fixed list of locations:
* United States (random)
* United States — Texas
* United States — New York
* United States — Florida
* United Kingdom (London)
* Austria (Vienna)
The location is added to your username as a `-country-` / `-state-` keyword (for example, `-country-us-state-texas` or `-country-uk`). The setup screen also appends an `-odds-5+100` suffix to mobile usernames automatically.
There is **no carrier selector** for mobile proxies — you cannot pick a specific mobile carrier.
# Mobile proxies overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/mobile/overview
How ProxyScrape Mobile proxies work — rotation, sticky sessions, locations, and authentication.
Mobile proxies route your traffic through mobile carrier IPs, which carry a strong reputation with target websites. The pool is smaller than the Regular Residential pool, but the higher trust of mobile IPs often makes up for it.
Mobile proxies are currently surfaced as an **experimental mode inside the Residential Proxy Setup screen** rather than as a standalone product. You select **Mobile proxies** as the proxy type on the [Residential Proxy Setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/) page, and the screen builds the username for you.
## How Mobile proxies work
* Mobile proxies **rotate by default**, with an optional fixed \~3-minute static session.
* They use a small, **fixed list of locations** and offer no carrier selector.
* They share the **same per-account host, port, and authentication** as your Regular Residential proxies.
* **Protocols:** HTTP and SOCKS5. Because Mobile runs on the same infrastructure as Regular Residential, the SOCKS5 proxies support **TCP** only.
For details on using Mobile proxies, see:
* [Rotation and sticky sessions](/proxies/mobile/rotation-and-sticky-sessions)
* [Locations](/proxies/mobile/locations)
* [Host, port, and authentication](/proxies/mobile/host-port-and-authentication)
# Rotation and sticky sessions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/mobile/rotation-and-sticky-sessions
How rotation and static sessions work for ProxyScrape Mobile proxies.
## Rotation
Mobile proxies **rotate by default** — you get a new IP on every connection.
## Sticky sessions
Mobile supports a **static session** of roughly **3 minutes**. When you choose the static option, the setup screen appends a `-session-{id}` keyword to your username (a session identifier). Unlike Regular Residential, mobile sessions do **not** take a custom lifetime or TTL value — the session length is fixed.

# Premium proxies overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/premium/overview
What ProxyScrape Premium proxies are — shared datacenter proxies on unlimited or bandwidth-based packages.
[Premium proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) are datacenter proxies that are shared between customers. Because the pool is shared, we can keep pricing extremely low while maintaining a high-quality proxy pool. This page covers the Premium product.
## Shared datacenter proxies
* The proxies are **shared** among multiple customers — they are not exclusive to you.
* Premium is offered as either an **unlimited** package or a **bandwidth-based** package.
* Both **IP authentication** and **username/password authentication** are supported.
* **Protocols:** HTTP and SOCKS5. The SOCKS5 proxies support **both TCP and UDP**.
For details on Premium plans and limits, see:
* [What is the traffic limit?](/proxies/premium/what-is-the-traffic-limit)
* [Do you have any smaller subscriptions?](/proxies/premium/do-you-have-any-smaller-subscriptions)
# What is the traffic limit?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/premium/what-is-the-traffic-limit
How data traffic and speed limits work on ProxyScrape Premium datacenter proxies.
Your traffic limit on [Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) depends on the package you choose. Premium is offered as either an **unlimited** package or a **bandwidth-based** package.
## Data traffic
* **Unlimited packages** — there is no data cap. Fair use applies; see our [terms and conditions](https://proxyscrape.com/terms-and-conditions) for details.
* **Bandwidth-based packages** — your plan includes a fixed amount of data (for example, 250GB). Once that allocation is used up, the proxies stop passing traffic until you top up or renew. You can track your remaining bandwidth in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/proxy-list/).
## Speed
**We do not put a limit on your speed (Mbps).** You are free to use the full throughput the proxy network can deliver, and this is what most high-speed use cases benefit from most.
If your usage is **sustained above 100 Mbps**, we may apply rate limiting to keep the network stable and fair for all users. Short bursts above this are fine — the limit only applies to continuous high-throughput usage.
## Connections
The traffic limit is separate from the connection limit. For how many simultaneous connections you can open, see [What is the connection limit of the proxies?](/proxies/what-is-the-connection-limit-of-the-proxies).
Looking for the smallest plan or a shorter billing period? See [Do you have any smaller subscriptions?](/proxies/premium/do-you-have-any-smaller-subscriptions).

Target a specific country with Regular Residential proxies on the rp.scrapegw.com host.
This guide covers **Regular Residential** proxies, which use the `rp.scrapegw.com` host. (For the Unlimited Residential package, see the [Unlimited Residential proxies overview](/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview).)
To access a specific country with residential proxies, append one of the following strings to the end of your proxy username:

> You can also select a country from the dashboard: go to the "Proxy Setup" section, choose your desired country from the "Country" dropdown, and the appended characters will be generated at the end of your username for you to copy and paste into your program.
Proxy Setup: [https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/)
## Combine country targeting with a sticky session
You can hold the same IP within your chosen country by adding a sticky session to the username. Append the country string first, then the session string:
* `billgates-country-us-session-1235469420-lifetime-15` — 15 minute sticky session with United States as the country
For the full sticky-session syntax and lifetime options, see [Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - Sticky sessions](/proxies/residential/sticky-sessions).
## Narrow down to a state or city
After selecting a country, you can target a specific state or city within it. See [Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - State and city targeting](/proxies/residential/state-and-city-targeting).

Size of the residential proxy pool and how many IPs are available.
## How many residential proxies are there?
Our residential proxy pool consists of around 55+ million residential proxies. At any time of the day, we expect at least 300 000 proxies to be online.
# How Residential Users Work
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/residential/how-residential-users-work
How residential proxy usernames and sessions work for traffic routing.
## Balance and Plans
As you know, each Residential service account now includes a balance that can hold multiple plans, each with its own expiration date and traffic allocation.
Previously, the parent user mirrored the total available traffic from all active and standby plans.
Moving forward:
* The main (parent) subuser will now show Unlimited traffic.
* This means the account stays active as long as there’s an active plan on their balance with remaining traffic and time.
## Sub-Users
We’ve also improved how traffic allocation works for sub-users:
* Creating a sub-user no longer subtracts traffic from the parent balance.
* Each sub-user now has its own independent limit.
* You can set a sub-user to “Unlimited”, allowing continuous use as long as the main balance has traffic and is active.
* Sub-users can be assigned limits higher than the main balance — for example, useful for resellers who want to sell more traffic without pre-purchasing everything upfront.
> **Warning:** Even if a sub-user has remaining traffic, it will stop working when the main balance runs out or expires.
## Key Concepts and Examples
* Traffic Allocation: Assigning traffic doesn’t affect your main balance immediately.
* Dual Dependency: Sub-users require both an active main balance and their own package to function.
* Unlimited Sub-users: Rely entirely on the main balance — they’ll work as long as the balance has traffic/time left.

# Residential proxies overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/residential/overview
What ProxyScrape Regular Residential proxies are — a large, rotating pool of real residential IPs on the rp.scrapegw.com host.
[Regular Residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) route your traffic through real residential IP addresses, which are more likely to be trusted by target websites. They use the `rp.scrapegw.com` host and rotate the exit IP on every request by default. This page covers the Regular Residential product. (For the separate Unlimited Residential package, see the [Unlimited Residential overview](/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview).)
## A large, rotating residential pool
* The pool consists of around **55+ million residential proxies**, with at least **300,000** expected online at any time.
* Proxies are **shared** among customers and **rotate automatically** with each request.
* Residential proxies support **username and password authentication**.
* **Protocols:** HTTP and SOCKS5. The SOCKS5 proxies support **TCP** only.
For details on accounts, targeting, and sessions, see:
* [How Residential Users Work](/proxies/residential/how-residential-users-work)
* [How many residential proxies are there?](/proxies/residential/how-many-residential-proxies-are-there)

# Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - State and city targeting
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/residential/state-and-city-targeting
Narrow Regular Residential proxies down to a specific state or city on the rp.scrapegw.com host.
This guide covers **Regular Residential** proxies, which use the `rp.scrapegw.com` host. (For the Unlimited Residential package, see the [Unlimited Residential proxies overview](/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview).)
Once you have chosen a country (see [Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - Country targeting](/proxies/residential/country-targeting)), you can narrow your proxies down further to a specific **state** or **city** by appending an extra string to your proxy username. State and city targeting always builds on top of country targeting — put the `-country-xx` string first, then the state or city string.
## Target a state
Append `-state-` followed by the state name (lowercase, no spaces) after the country string:
* `-state-texas`
* `-state-california`
Examples (username first, then the location strings):
* `billgates-country-us-state-texas` — United States, Texas
* `billgates-country-us-state-california` — United States, California
## Target a city
Append `-city-` followed by the city name (lowercase, no spaces) after the country string:
* `-city-houston`
* `-city-losangeles`
Examples:
* `billgates-country-us-city-houston` — United States, Houston
* `billgates-country-us-city-losangeles` — United States, Los Angeles
Target a state **or** a city — not both at the same time. In the dashboard, both options are offered in the same "State/Region" dropdown, so you select one region per proxy.
## Combine with a sticky session
You can hold the same IP within your chosen state or city by adding a sticky session. Append the location string(s) first, then the session string:
* `billgates-country-us-state-texas-session-1235469420-lifetime-15` — 15 minute sticky session in Texas, United States
* `billgates-country-us-city-houston-session-1235469420-lifetime-10` — 10 minute sticky session in Houston, United States
For the full sticky-session syntax and lifetime options, see [Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - Sticky sessions](/proxies/residential/sticky-sessions).
## Build it in the dashboard
You can also generate these strings from the dashboard: go to the ["Proxy Setup"](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/) section, choose your **Country**, then pick a state or city from the **State/Region** dropdown. The appended characters are generated at the end of your username for you to copy and paste into your program.
# Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - Sticky sessions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/residential/sticky-sessions
Configure sticky sessions for Regular Residential proxies on the rp.scrapegw.com host.
This guide covers **Regular Residential** proxies, which use the `rp.scrapegw.com` host. (For the Unlimited Residential package, see the [Unlimited Residential proxies overview](/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview).)
To make your residential session sticky, append the following to your username:
* -session--lifetime-
Examples:
* jeffreybezos-session-abc123-lifetime-5 (5 minute sticky session)
* elonmusk-session-1235469420-lifetime-10 (10 minute sticky session)
* billgates-country-us-session-1235469420-lifetime-15 (15 minute sticky session with United States as the country)
The last example combines a sticky session with country targeting — add the `-country-xx` string before the session string. For the full list of country codes, see [Regular Residential (rp.scrapegw.com) - Country targeting](/proxies/residential/country-targeting).
> Technically, there is no strict limit to how long sticky sessions can be, but the proxy's IP address can only be maintained while the node serving that IP remains online. If the node serving that IP goes offline, the proxy will rotate. We recommend using a maximum of 120 minutes.
> It is also available on the dashboard. Go to the ["Proxy Setup"](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup/) section, where you can select your desired session duration. After making your selection, appended characters will be generated at the end of your username, which you can copy and paste into your program.
# Unlimited Residential - Country, city, and state targeting
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/unlimited-residential/country-targeting
Target a specific country, city, or state with the Unlimited Residential package.
With the Unlimited Residential package you control **where** your proxies exit (country, city, or state) by appending keywords to your proxy username — no change to the host or port is needed. (To keep the same IP across requests, see [Unlimited Residential - Sticky sessions](/proxies/unlimited-residential/sticky-sessions).)
## Country targeting
To route through a specific country, append `-country-` followed by the 2-letter [ISO country code](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2) (uppercase) to the end of your proxy username.
Examples:
* `yourusername-country-US` — United States
* `yourusername-country-GB` — United Kingdom
* `yourusername-country-DE` — Germany
## City targeting
To narrow a country down to a specific city, append `-city-` followed by the city name (lowercase, no spaces) after the `-country-` code.
Examples:
* `yourusername-country-US-city-newyork` — New York City, United States
* `yourusername-country-GB-city-london` — London, United Kingdom
* `yourusername-country-DE-city-berlin` — Berlin, Germany
## State targeting
To narrow a country down to a specific state, append `-state-` followed by the 2-letter state code (uppercase, no spaces) after the `-country-` code.
Examples:
* `yourusername-country-US-state-CA` — California, United States
* `yourusername-country-US-state-TX` — Texas, United States
* `yourusername-country-US-state-FL` — Florida, United States
The dashboard **Proxy Setup** screen for Unlimited Residential builds country and city usernames. State targeting is supported by appending the `-state-` keyword to your username as shown above, so build the state username yourself if the dropdown does not offer it.
You can target either a city **or** a state, but not both at the same time.
Not all countries, cities, and states are supported. To check whether a specific location is available, reach out to our [support team](https://proxyscrape.com/contact).
You can also build these usernames from the dashboard: go to the [Proxy Setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential-unlimited/proxy-setup/) section, choose your desired country or city from the dropdowns, and the appended characters are generated at the end of your username for you to copy and paste into your program. State targeting is supported but is not offered by the Proxy Setup dropdowns — append the `-state-` keyword yourself as shown above.
# Unlimited Residential proxies overview
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview
What ProxyScrape Unlimited Residential proxies are — a separate residential product with unlimited traffic metered by Mbps throughput.
The Unlimited Residential package is a **separate residential product** that is not metered by data volume. Instead of a bandwidth cap, throughput is measured in **Mbps** and traffic is unlimited. It has its own host, its own scoping keywords, and its own location list, kept fully separate from the Regular Residential product. This page covers the Unlimited Residential product. (For the Regular Residential product on `rp.scrapegw.com`, see the [Residential overview](/proxies/residential/overview).)
## Unlimited, Mbps-metered residential
* Traffic is **unlimited** — usage is measured by **Mbps throughput** rather than a data cap.
* The proxies use port 1080\*\*;
* Unlimited Residential supports **username and password authentication**.
* **Protocols:** HTTP and SOCKS5. The SOCKS5 proxies support **both TCP and UDP** — UDP is an option you enable when buying the product.
For details on targeting and sessions, see:
* [Country, city, and state targeting](/proxies/unlimited-residential/country-targeting)
* [Sticky sessions](/proxies/unlimited-residential/sticky-sessions)
# Unlimited Residential - Sticky sessions
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/unlimited-residential/sticky-sessions
Configure sticky sessions with the Unlimited Residential package.
By default, Unlimited Residential proxies rotate the exit IP on every request. To keep the same IP across multiple requests, append `-session-{id}-ttl-{seconds}` to the end of your proxy username, where:
* `{id}` is a session identifier — any number from 0 to 99999.
* `{seconds}` is how long the session stays sticky. Duration is minute-based, so use a whole number of minutes expressed in seconds (e.g. `60`, `300`, `600`).
Sticky sessions combine with location targeting — just add the session keywords after the country, city, or state. For the location keywords, see [Unlimited Residential - Country, city, and state targeting](/proxies/unlimited-residential/country-targeting).
Examples:
* `yourusername-session-658235-ttl-300` — 5 minute sticky session
* `yourusername-session-658235-ttl-600` — 10 minute sticky session
* `yourusername-country-US-city-newyork-session-658235-ttl-900` — 15 minute sticky session with city targeting (New York City, United States)
* `yourusername-country-US-state-CA-session-658235-ttl-900` — 15 minute sticky session with state targeting (California, United States)
* `yourusername-session-658235-ttl-43200` — 12 hour sticky session
The session `{id}` can also be generated from the dashboard: go to the [Proxy Setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential-unlimited/proxy-setup/) section and the appended characters are generated at the end of your username for you to copy and paste into your program.
There is no strict limit on session length, but an IP can only be held while the node serving it stays online. If that node goes offline, the proxy rotates. We recommend a maximum of 12 hours (43,200 seconds). To force a rotation before the session expires, change the `{id}` in your username to a new number.
# Using proxies in the ProxyScrape proxy checker
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/using-proxies-in-the-proxy-checker
Test whether your proxies are working, and check their speed, anonymity, and country, with the ProxyScrape proxy checker.
The [ProxyScrape proxy checker](https://proxyscrape.com/proxy-checker) lets you verify that your proxies are online and inspect their speed, anonymity level, and country. It works with both our own proxies and proxies from other sources.
## Check your proxies
Go to the [proxy checker](https://proxyscrape.com/proxy-checker).
Enter your proxies, one per line, in the `ip:port` format. If your proxies use username and password authentication, use the `ip:port:username:password` format instead.
Choose the protocol your proxies use — HTTP, SOCKS4, or SOCKS5. If you are unsure, see [Are the proxies HTTP(s), Socks4, or Socks5?](/proxies/are-the-proxies-http-s-socks4-or-socks5).
Start the check. The tool reports whether each proxy is working along with its response time, anonymity level, and country.
## Reading the results
* **Status** — whether the proxy responded successfully.
* **Response time** — how long the proxy took to respond. See [How fast are the proxies?](/proxies/how-fast-are-the-proxies) for the expected timings per product.
* **Anonymity** — the anonymity level detected. See [What anonymity level are the proxies?](/proxies/what-anonymity-level-are-the-proxies).
* **Country** — the country the proxy's exit IP is located in.
If you authenticate by IP rather than by username and password, make sure the device running the check has an [authenticated IP](/proxies/how-to-authenticate-my-ip) — otherwise the proxies will be reported as not working.
If a proxy shows as offline unexpectedly, work through [Why are proxies not working?](/proxies/why-are-proxies-not-working) before contacting support.

Which ports to use for HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 proxies.
### Datacenter proxies
The datacenter proxies ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)) use port 3129 for the HTTP protocol and port 1081 for the Socks5 protocol.
### Residential proxies
The [residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) support HTTP and Socks5 protocol, which runs on the same port, 6060.
### Unlimited Residential proxies
The Unlimited Residential proxies use SOCKS5 on port 1080. Your host and port are specific to your account — copy the exact values from the **Proxy Setup** page in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential-unlimited/proxy-setup/).
### Dedicated ISP proxies
The Dedicated ISP proxies do not use a single fixed port. Each proxy is delivered as its own `host:port` pair on the **Proxy list** page in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/isp/proxy-list/), and both HTTP and SOCKS5 are served on that same `host:port`.

# Which proxies are best for me?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/whats-the-difference-between-premium-residential-and-dedicated-proxies
Compare Premium, Dedicated, Dedicated ISP, Residential, Unlimited Residential, and Mobile proxy types and use cases.
ProxyScrape offers several proxy products. Use the summaries below to pick the one that fits your use case.
### Premium
The [Premium plan](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) provides datacenter proxies on either an unlimited or bandwidth-based package that are shared between our customers. Because of this, we can keep the price extremely low for you. This package supports both IP authentication and username:password authentication on our platform.
### Dedicated
The [Dedicated plan](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies) is similar to the premium plan, with the only difference being that you are the only one using the proxies. Thus you have more control over the reputation of the proxy. The dedicated proxies also come with unlimited bandwidth and IP authentication.
### Dedicated ISP
The [ISP proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/isp-proxies) combine the best of both worlds: they are hosted in datacenters but registered to real Internet Service Providers, so they carry residential-level trust with the speed and stability of datacenter proxies. Each IP is private and dedicated to you, static for the duration of your plan, and comes with unlimited bandwidth. Dedicated ISP proxies support username and password authentication only. For latency, speed, and setup details, see the [Dedicated ISP proxies overview](/proxies/dedicated-isp/overview).
### Residential
Unlike the datacenter proxies, the [Residential proxies](https://proxyscrape.com/products/residential-proxies) do not come with unlimited bandwidth. The advantage of our residential proxies is that they are more likely to be trusted by target websites because they represent normal IP addresses. The residential proxies only support username and password authentication.
### Unlimited Residential
The Unlimited Residential package is a separate residential product that is not metered by data volume. Instead of a bandwidth cap, throughput is measured in Mbps and traffic is unlimited. It has its own host, its own scoping keywords, and its own location list, and it also supports username and password authentication. See the [Unlimited Residential proxies overview](/proxies/unlimited-residential/overview).
### Mobile
Mobile proxies route your traffic through real mobile carrier IPs, which carry a strong reputation with target websites. They rotate by default and use the same host, port, and authentication as our Regular Residential proxies. Mobile is currently surfaced as an experimental mode inside the Residential Proxy Setup screen — see the [Mobile proxies overview](/proxies/mobile/overview).

## Premium proxies
Premium proxies support **two authentication methods: IP authentication and username/password authentication**.
If your proxies are not working, first check which authentication method you are using and follow the steps below.
### IP authentication
With IP authentication, the public IPv4 address of the device or server connecting to the proxies must be authenticated.
### Step 1: Authenticate your IP
Go to the [IP authentication page](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/ip-authentication).
### Step 2: Add your IP address
If you want to use the proxies on the device you are currently on, click the "my IP" button on the page.
### Step 3: Authenticate another device or server
If you want to use the proxies on another device or server, open [**https://api.ipify.org/**](https://api.ipify.org/) on that device.
Copy the displayed IP address and enter it into the IP address field on your ProxyScrape dashboard.
### Step 4: Save and wait
Click **“Save”** and wait 10 minutes for your IP address to synchronize across all proxies before using them.
**Please note:**
* IP authentication only supports IPv4, not IPv6.
* Authentication may take up to 10 minutes to synchronize. Using the proxies before synchronization is complete may cause them not to work.
### Username and password authentication
Premium proxies can also be authenticated using a **username and password**.
You can find your Premium proxy credentials in your [Premium proxy list page](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/proxy-list).
If you are using username and password authentication, make sure:
* You are using the correct username and password shown in your dashboard.
* The proxy IP/host and port are correct.
* Your username and password were copied correctly without extra spaces or missing characters.
* Your program supports username and password proxy authentication.
* Your Premium plan is active.
Depending on your program, your proxy may need to be entered in a format such as:
`username:password@host:port`
### Redownload your proxies
You might not be using the correct proxies, or we recently changed your proxies, and you missed our update email. You can redownload your proxies via the [proxy list page](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/premium/proxy-list).
## Dedicated proxies
Dedicated proxies use **username and password authentication**. IP authentication is not required.
You can find your Dedicated proxy username and password in your [**ProxyScrape dashboard**](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/).
If your Dedicated proxies are not working, check the following:
* Make sure you are using the correct username and password shown in your dashboard.
* Make sure the proxy IP/host and port are correct.
* Check that your username and password were copied correctly without extra spaces or missing characters.
* Make sure your program is configured to use username and password authentication.
* Check that your plan is still active.
Depending on your program, your proxy may need to be entered in a format such as:
`username:password@host:port`
The exact format may vary depending on the program or proxy client you are using.
## Residential proxies
Residential proxies use **username and password authentication**.
You can find your Residential proxy username and password in your [Residential proxy setup page](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/proxy-setup).
If your Residential proxies are not working, check the following:
* Make sure you are using the correct username and password shown in your dashboard.
* Make sure you are using the correct proxy host and port.
* Check that your username and password were copied correctly.
* Make sure your program is configured to use username and password authentication.
* Check that your Residential plan is active.
* Make sure you still have bandwidth available.
Depending on your program, your proxy may need to be entered in a format such as:
`username:password@host:port`
### Check your remaining bandwidth
Residential proxies use the bandwidth available in your plan. If you have used all of your available bandwidth, the proxies will stop working until additional bandwidth is available.
You can check your plan and remaining bandwidth in your [ProxyScrape dashboard overview](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential/overview).
## Unlimited Residential proxies
Unlimited Residential proxies use **username and password authentication**.
You can find your Unlimited Residential proxy username and password in your [ProxyScrape proxy setup](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/residential-unlimited/proxy-setup).
If your Unlimited Residential proxies are not working, check the following:
* Make sure you are using the correct username and password shown in your dashboard.
* Make sure you are using the correct proxy host and port.
* Check that your username and password were copied correctly without extra spaces or missing characters.
* Make sure your program is configured to use username and password authentication.
* Check that your plan is still active.
Depending on your program, your proxy may need to be entered in a format such as:
`username:password@host:port`
## ISP proxies
ISP proxies use **username and password authentication**.
You can find your ISP proxy username and password in your [ProxyScrape proxylist](https://dashboard.proxyscrape.com/v2/services/isp/proxy-list).
If your ISP proxies are not working, check the following:
* Make sure you are using the correct username and password shown in your dashboard.
* Make sure you are using the correct proxy IP/host and port.
* Check that your username and password were copied correctly without extra spaces or missing characters.
* Make sure your program is configured to use username and password authentication.
* Check that your plan is still active.
Depending on your program, your proxy may need to be entered in a format such as:
`username:password@host:port`
## Test your proxy connection
If your authentication and proxy details are correct, you can use a `curl` command to check whether your proxy is working.
### Username and password authentication
For proxies that use username and password authentication, use the following command:
`curl -x "http://YOUR_USERNAME:YOUR_PASSWORD@PROXY_IP:PORT" https://ipinfo.io/ip`
For example:
`curl -x "http://username123:password123@216.26.248.203:3129" https://ipinfo.io/ip`
Replace the example username, password, proxy IP, and port with the details shown in your ProxyScrape dashboard.
If the proxy is working correctly, the command will return the IP address being used for the connection.
### IP authentication
If you are using Premium proxies with IP authentication, run:
`curl -x "http://host:port" https://api.ipify.org`
Make sure the public IPv4 address of the device or server running the command has already been added to your IP authentication settings. If you recently added the IP address, wait up to 10 minutes for it to synchronize before testing.
### If the curl test fails
If the proxy does not connect, double-check:
* Your proxy host and port.
* Your username and password, if applicable.
* Your IP authentication settings, if applicable.
* The proxy protocol you are using.
* That your proxy plan is active.
If the proxy works with `curl` but does not work in your program, the issue is likely related to your program's proxy configuration. Continue to the **Program misconfiguration** section below.
### Program misconfiguration
There are many program-specific configuration issues; here are common areas to check:
* Timeout settings
* The timeout is the maximum time you allow your program to receive a response from the target. Ensure you typed your timeout correctly and check whether the timeout is in seconds or milliseconds (1 second = 1000 milliseconds).
* Average expected timeout through the proxies for a simple, fast website is 300–700 milliseconds. Increase the timeout for big or slow websites.
* Wrong proxy protocol
* Ensure you select the correct proxy protocol in your program. Proxies ending with port 3129 are HTTP proxies; proxies ending with 1081 are Socks5. Selecting the wrong protocol will cause the proxies not to work.
* Using too many threads
* Threads are the number of concurrent jobs your program performs. Using too many threads may overload your system or the target website and cause connection failures.
* Target is offline
* Verify the target website URL is correct and that the site is online. If the target site is offline, your proxies will appear offline as well.
### Target website bans
A proxy might be banned from your target website for reasons such as:
* Wrong geolocation
* Excessive use of the proxy
* Proxy has a bad reputation
### Other possible issues
* ISP blocks
* Under very rare circumstances, your ISP might be blocking connections to our proxies. Contact your ISP to verify this is not the case.
* Using an online proxy checker
* Our proxies are not compatible with online proxy checkers because it is not possible to authenticate the IP of their servers. To test the proxies, use a local proxy checker.
## Free proxies
If a free proxy is not working, it likely went offline. You can download new free proxies here:

# Why are the proxies banned?
Source: https://docs.proxyscrape.com/proxies/why-are-the-proxies-banned
Why proxies get banned or blocked and what you can do about it.
Proxies can get banned from websites if they have been used a lot on the same website or if the IP address has a bad reputation. This could be due to your own actions or the activities of previous users. The best solution for avoiding bans in the future is by using more proxies.

### Datacenter proxies
We verify the location of our datacenter proxies ([Premium](https://proxyscrape.com/products/premium) and [Dedicated](https://proxyscrape.com/products/dedicated-proxies)) via [MaxMind](https://www.maxmind.com/en/home) to ensure accurate geolocation. Please be aware that other geolocating services might not share the same geo-location data. We prefer to use MaxMind because they are used by major cooperations such as Amazon for geolocating IPs, thus ensuring the best possible results.
If MaxMind shows any other location other than the locations you have ordered please contact the [ProxyScrape support.](https://proxyscrape.com/contact)
### Residential proxies
